LiAngelo Ball has Huge Opportunity to Step Up with Tomas Dimsa Leaving BC Vytautas

on

The Big Baller Brand, BC Vytautas experiment has been a roller coaster since the arrival of the Ball boys, LiAngelo and LaMelo in early January. In another twist of events, star player, Tomas Dimsa has left the team as reported by Basketnews.it.

From the arrival of the Ball family, apparent friction existed between the two parties (Dimsa was the only Vytautas player who refused to have his face shown on the reality show, Ball in the Family), and even showcased itself in certain games during the season. Dimsa, who is 24-years-old, was once considered one of the top prospects from Lithuania, is averaging 12 points and four assists per game, despite such an odd season.

While this news may be hard to swallow for the team as a whole, it opens the door for LiAngelo to shine even more. With Dimsa being one of the primary scorers now gone, the team will look to LiAngelo for more scoring opportunities and pick up some of the slack left behind.

Vytautas’ next opponent is Nevezis. During their last contest, LiAngelo played his best game to date going off for 28 points on 6-of-8 3’s, including 20 in the first half.

Even with the loss of Dimsa, Vytautas has bigger fish to fry as they seek to avoid relegation to the NKL. With Vytautas currently sitting three games behind Nevezis, this is a must-win game as well as the remaining games on their schedule.

With LiAngelo hoping to increase his NBA Draft stock, he’ll have no better opportunity than now to show he can be the de facto centerpiece for turning the season around for Vytautas.
